Foucault’s Museum: Difference, Representation, and Genealogy

Abstract – Foucault’s work has been used to promote a negative view of the museum as an Enlightenment institution that embodies state power and strives to order the world according to universal rules and the concept of a total history. This article argues that an analysis of Foucault’s work actually leads to a view of the museum that is positive and progressive for dismantling the very notions of historical continuity and coherence that Foucault rejects. This gives the museum a unique status for Foucault, as an institution that has its origins in the Enlightenment values or ‘capabilities’ that enable us to overcome the relations of power that are based on those Enlightenment values. The museum exemplifies the tension in Foucault’s position on the Enlightenment: that we must rely on Enlightenment values of critique, freedom and progress in order to reject the Enlightenment relations of power that have been based on these values. The first part of the paper suggests a Foucaultian definition of the museum as aspace of difference and space of representation. The second part argues that on the basis of this definition, the museum has the potential to enact Foucault’s genealogy, and to contribute to progress.

Gürcüstan Mədəniyyət və Abidələrin Mühafizəsi Nazirliyinin, Azərbaycan Dövlət Neft Şirkətinin Gürcüstan nümayəndəliyinin dəstəyi, Azərbaycanın Gürcüstandakı səfirliyinin, Azərbaycanlıların Mədəniyyət Mərkəzinin və Gürcüstan Aşıqlar Birliyinin təşəbbüsü ilə Marneuli rayonunun Kəpənəkçi kəndində XX əsr Azərbaycan aşıq sənətinin görkəmli nümayəndələrindən biri, Azərbaycanın əməkdar mədəniyyət işçisi, mərhum Aşıq Kamandar Əfəndiyevin büstünün və ev muzeyinin açılışı olub.
Azərbaycanlıların Mədəniyyət Mərkəzinin mətbuat xidmətindən Trend-ə verilən məlumata görə, tədbirdə Gürcüstanın mədəniyyət və abidələrin mühafizəsi naziri Quram Odişaria çıxış edərək Gürcüstan və Azərbaycan xalqlarının tarixi dostluğundan danışıb və Aşıq Kamandar haqqında ürək sözlərini bildirərək qeyd edib ki, Gürcüstan Mədəniyyət və Abidələrin Mühafizəsi Nazirliyi Aşıq Kamandar Əfəndiyevin ev muzeyini qeydiyyata götürəcək:
“Ötən il Aşıq Kamandarın yubileyində iştirak etdim və çox məmnun qaldım. O tədbirdə qərara aldıq ki, aşığın evində büst qoyulsun və ev muzeyi statusu verilsin. Bu mədəniyyət ocağı bizim birlik ocağımızdır. Azərbaycan və Gürcüstan münasibətləri hər zamankı kimi bu gün də dostluq və qardaşlıq xarakteri daşıyır. Gürcüstan-Azərbaycan dostluğu bütün ölkələrə nümunə olmalıdır. Hər iki xalqın zəngin mədəniyyəti vardır. Gürcüstanda aşıq sənətini inkişaf etdirmək üçün Aşıqlar Festivalı da keçirməyi planlaşdırırıq, bu festivalın da Aşıq Kamandarın adı ilə bağlanacağını bildirirəm”.
Tədbirdə Gürcüstanın Baş naziri Bidzina İvanişvilinin köməkçisi Savalan Mirzəyev, Azərbaycan səfirliyinin əməkdaşları, Azərbaycan və Gürcüstan Aşıqlar Birliyinin nümayəndələri, ziyalılar, jurnalistlər, QHT rəhbərləri, kənd sakinləri və digər rəsmi şəxslər iştirak ediblər.
Sonda Gürcüstan Aşıqlar Birliyinin üzvü olan aşıqların ifasında saz havaları səsləndirilib, konsert keçirilib.

Marneulidə aşıq Kamandar Əfəndiyevin ev-muzeyi əsaslı təmir olunur

“Azərbaycan dövləti mədəniyyətimizin, xüsusən ozan-aşıq sənətinin inkişafına, bu sahədə çalışanlara, inkişaf etdirənlərə diqqət və qayğı göstərib. Xüsusilə də korifey sənətkarlar harada yaşamasından asılı olmayaraq, hərtərəfli diqqət və qayğı ilə əhatə olunublar.
“İki sahil” AZƏRTAC-a istinadən xəbər verir ki, Gürcüstanın Borçalı bölgəsindən olan ozan-aşıq sənət fədailəri də diqqətdən kənarda qalmayıblar.
Azərbaycanın Gürcüstandakı səfiri Faiq Quliyev bu məqsədlə Marneuli rayonunun Kəpənəkçi kəndində, ozan-aşıq sənəti ustalarından biri olan, korifey sənətkar aşıq Kamandar Əfəndiyevin ev-muzeyində olub.
Türkiyənin Gürcüstandakı səfiri Fatma Ceren Yazqanın da iştirakı ilə keçirilən görüşdə bildirilib ki, ustad bu əbədiyaşar sənətin zənginləşməsi və inkişafında misilsiz xidmətlər göstərib. Borçalı aşıq məktəbinin yetirməsi olan Aşıq Kamandar 1984-cü ildə Azərbaycanın “Əməkdar mədəniyyət işçisi” adına, 1999-cu ildə isə Gürcüstanın yüksək mükafatı olan “Şərəf” ordeninə layiq görülüb. 2012-ci ildə sənətkarın 80 illik yubileyi həm Tbilisi, həm də Bakı şəhərlərində dövlət səviyyəsində qeyd edilib. Elə həmin ildə Aşıq Kamandarın ev-muzeyi yaradılıb və 2013-cü ildə orada büstü qoyulub.
Qeyd olunub ki, Aşıq Kamandarın ev-muzeyi bu yaxınlarda Türkiyənin Əməkdaşlıq və Koordinasiya Agentliyinin (TİKA) Gürcüstan nümayəndəliyi tərəfindən dünya muzeyləri standartlarına uyğun olaraq təmir edilir. Təmir işlərini TİKA-nın Gürcüstan üzrə əlaqələndiricisi Necla Demirdağın rəhbərliyi ilə Gürcüstanda muzeylərin bərpası və qurulması üzrə təcrübəli mütəxəssislər aparır. Təmir işlərinin məsləhətçisi folklorşünas, professor Mahmud Kamaloğludur.
Faiq Quliyev və Fatma Ceren Yazqan muzeydə görülən işlərlə yaxından tanış olub, türk xalqlarına məxsus olan ozan-aşıq sənətinin tarixi, bu sənətin bölgədəki digər xalqlara təsiri barədə fikir mübadiləsi aparıblar.
Diplomatlar muzeylə bağlı tövsiyələrini verib, gələcəkdə də bölgədə olan belə mədəniyyət ocaqlarının fəaliyyətinə hər cür dəstəklərini verəcəklərini vurğulayıblar.
